Introduction to Power Tools is the first in our run of Winter Workshops. In this 2 hour session, experienced studio artists and makers Dan Higgs and Richard Redwin will teach the safe use of:
- Cordless Drill / Screwdriver
- Impact Driver
- Drill Press / Pillar Drill
- Table Saw
- Jigsaw
- Angle Grinder
- Circular Saw
- Chop Saw
- Brad Nailer / Nail Gun

Climate Cafe Open Call Out
We have a rolling Open Call Out to run an activity at our monthly Climate Cafe!
We are looking for contributors between November 2025 - March 2026
You could be looking for the chance to try out a participatory activity as a volunteer or offer your skills to the project as a community member or looking for paid work as a local artist
Whatever your situation, if you have an idea for Climate Cafe, then we would like to hear from you!

Climate Cafe
Our next Climate Cafe is Saturday 11th October 10-3pm!
This months theme is: Harvest
Climate Cafe activities this month will include; Clothes, toys and book swap (we kindly ask for no more clothes and books donations this month, we are accepting good quality toys only), Jewellery making & repairing workshop, soup making workshop, pickle workshop, knit and natter, live music & ukulele lessons, and more to be announced!
‘Pay what you can’ vegetarian community meal (vegan option available)

Lantern Procession Volunteer Training
Thursday 16th October - 6pm til 8pm
As we approach lantern season we are looking for volunteers who'd like to help us at our community lantern processions.
Join B. ARTS for a practical volunteer training session.
Learn how to support a candle-lit community lantern event, including tips on how to help facilitate lantern-making workshops and how to steward a lantern procession.

Come and be a part of the Ford Green Team's Christmas Panto - Pinocchio in December 2025
Rehearsals will take place on Sundays 5-7pm and Mondays 6-8pm between October - December 2025
We'd love for you to prepare something individual, that represents you, for your audition, and a bit of a song if you'd like to sing in the Panto!

Newcastle Lanterns: Feasts of Welcome
Newcastle Under Lyme Lanterns is back for 2025 on Saturday 6th December. Meet in Newcastle at 4.30pm for a 5pm start.
Join B. ARTS and Castle Creatives for a community winter event, featuring hand-made willow and tissue paper lanterns.
Come and make your own FREE willow and paper lanterns with us at one of our workshops and join in our incredible lantern parade in Newcastle-under-Lyme
The lanterns we create are hung on a bamboo pole, do not get let loose and do not harm wildlife. You will be able to keep your handmade lantern after the parade too!

The workshops take place on the first floor, there is lift access to the workshop space.
"Keele in Town is a dedicated space in the Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre designed to bring together Keele University students, staff, and the wider community. It offers a welcoming environment for studying, collaboration, and engagement with local businesses and non-profit organisations. The addition of a café service, run by the popular local Piccoloco team, enhances the building’s role as a vibrant hub for connection, learning, and community involvement."

All workshops AND the parade are totally FREE, no skills or experience needed, all tools and kit provided, just turn up and get making!

Men Who Make Things
A weekly creative making and well-being space for men with B arts Studio Artists Dan and Rich
Wednesday evenings 6-8pm
Sessions continue from Wednesday 8th October 2025.
From carpentry, to metal work, to foam prop making, the B arts studio team will run various making sessions but they also want to hear from you, and what you’re interested in!
