Newcastle Lanterns: Feasts of Welcome
Newcastle Under Lyme Lanterns is back for 2025 on Saturday 6th December.
Meeting in Newcastle outside Keele in Town at 4.30pm for a 5pm start.
Join B. ARTS and Castle Creatives for a community winter event, featuring hand-made willow and tissue paper lanterns.
Come and make your own FREE willow and paper lanterns with us at one of our workshops and join in our incredible lantern parade in Newcastle-under-Lyme
The lanterns we create are hung on a bamboo pole, do not get let loose and do not harm wildlife. You will be able to keep your handmade lantern after the parade too!

The workshops take place on the first floor, there is lift access to the workshop space.
"Keele in Town is a dedicated space in the Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre designed to bring together Keele University students, staff, and the wider community. It offers a welcoming environment for studying, collaboration, and engagement with local businesses and non-profit organisations. The addition of a café service, run by the popular local Piccoloco team, enhances the building’s role as a vibrant hub for connection, learning, and community involvement."
All workshops AND the parade are totally FREE, no skills or experience needed, all tools and kit provided, just turn up and get making!

Creative-e-tea 9th Dec
☕ Creativ-e-tea: Decoupage Bowls 🖌️

Creativ-e-tea is a new creative making session at B. ARTS, each session will be different so keep a look out for what's coming up 👀
Join The Happy Makers who will be bringing along lots of papers and mixed multi sensory materials to decoupage and embellish a fabulous bowl.
Happy Makers describe their sessions as "fun, welcoming and designed to be inclusive, immersive and rewarding for everyone and anyone who would like to come along and join us and explore their own individual creativity."
No experience needed, everyone welcome (18+ and infants/babes in arms)

Teens and Parents/Guardians Making together is the 3rd in our run of Winter Workshops programmed in response to feedback from our participants.
In this 2 hour session, experienced studio artists and makers Dan Higgs and Richard Redwin will guide you through the workshop and all tools and materials are provided.

Welcome to The Land of No Limits, Scream if you wanna go faster The louder you scream the faster the ride Buckle up for Pinocchio like you’ve never seen him before Made of clay and crafted right here in SmallthorneStarring, well… Us!
No big names just big hearts, proper panto gathered together to sing and dance and scream “She’s behind you!” in unison.
St Saviours and The Ford Green Team proudly present, Crafted with love "The Adventures of Pinocchio, A Boy Made of Clay”
This pantomime has been co-created by volunteers from St Saviours Church and the Ford Green Team in conjunction with B.ARTS featuring a volunteer community cast of all ages and experiences. We are grateful to Smallthorne Community Centre for their ongoing support.
This is a non-profit event, and ticket costs cover the production expenses only.
There will be a bar on the night which will serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
We're staging this show twice (Friday 12th evening and Saturday 13th evening) so tickets are extremely limited. Get yours now to avoid disappointment.
Doors and the bar open at 6.30pm, join us early for some pre-show entertainment!

Join the No72 Advisory Group?
Would you like to join the No72 Advisory Group?
In the new year we’re looking for more people to help advise on our entire programme at No72!
We want to hear from you about your experiences of attending our events, what has been working well, what is missing and what could be improved, as well as helping us to shape our entire programme for the new year.
There are opportunities to join in with an in-person meeting, and also opportunities to join in with an online meeting.
Our regular group will also meet quarterly to plan and advise on our regular Climate Cafe - let us know if you’d like to be a part of that too!
If you’re interested and able to attend in person, we’d like to invite you to a meeting on Friday 21st November at 12pm to meet Kath and Rebecca and join us for lunch.

Men Who Make Things
A weekly creative making and well-being space for men with B arts Studio Artists Dan and Rich
Wednesday evenings 6-8pm
Sessions continue from Wednesday 19th November 2025.
From carpentry, to metal work, to foam prop making, the B arts studio team will run various making sessions but they also want to hear from you, and what you’re interested in!

Climate Cafe Open Call Out
We have a rolling Open Call Out to run an activity at our monthly Climate Cafe!
We are looking for contributors between November 2025 - March 2026
You could be looking for the chance to try out a participatory activity as a volunteer or offer your skills to the project as a community member or looking for paid work as a local artist
Whatever your situation, if you have an idea for Climate Cafe, then we would like to hear from you!

Pay as you feel Cafe. All dishes made using surplus waste food. 3 course meal, you decide what to pay.
